Having decided to spend a week at Eagle Brae, they also chose to get married and asked myself to capture the moment and also be a witness.

Eagle Brae is a stunning location for a break away or as Lorraine and Shelley did, an elopement wedding! Surrounded by the landscape with the log cabins blending in, they are luxury.

A couple of hours up at Eagle Brae, stags, a Bernese mountain dog, rain, snow and ducks all made it into the photographs.

Congrats again to you both, enjoy the sneak peeks here and your full gallery.

35mm film yet to be developed, oh yeah, I also took a FILM camera alongside the digital bodies

Dalvey House Wedding Photography | John and Aoife | St Mary’s Nairn Wed, 10 Jan 2018 16:52:40 +0000 A Dalvey House and St Mary’s in Nairn wedding with John and Aoife (ee-fa) captured last year and now in the ‘off wedding season’ I’m playing catch up with blogging and social media! Although my wedding season this year starts well…this month!

John and Aoife didn’t require full day coverage and I was booked for 4 hours to cover the prewedding, wedding and up until the reception. A bright sunny Nairn wedding which was the last wedding by the present minister as he went into retirement, or I’m actually thinking he came out of retirement to marry John and Aoife. Following the wedding with family and friends at St Mary’s the guests were either bused or driven through to Dalvey House for drinks and the receoption. The marquee and the ‘posh’ loos which are on site and available to hire from the owners are stunning! Not often I saw that about toilets.

These are just a few from the day as I catch up on 2017…..

Loch Coruisk Wedding | Kieran and Theresa | Skye Wedding Wed, 03 Jan 2018 13:19:40 +0000 Loch Coruisk wedding time, well almost! Kieran and Theresa had chosen to have a small almost Skye elopement wedding over at Loch Coruisk, unfortunately the wind had other ideas meaning the boats were not running. The back up plan was to get married on the shore at Elgol under the honeycomb rock. It was a little wet and windy, but under the protection of the rock, all went well!

Skye weddings can do this, plan everything, but always have a back up due to the changing weather, sun, sleet, snow and rain are standard weather forecasts at certain times of the year, if it’s not the weather, it’s midges. The couple and their friends and families had hired the lodge at Sligachan and as they were heading there afterwards I followed on and got some shots in the area with now the famous Sligachan bridge included, unfortunately the low cloud hid most of the Cuillin. A few random images from the day…and congratulations again

Achnagairn Wedding Photography | Abigail and Alex Sat, 02 Dec 2017 23:53:21 +0000 Achnagairn Wedding with Abigail, Alex and……It’s winter, there is no snow, but there is a baby! 11 days prior to the wedding, the couple welcomed their baby into the world. 11 days! That was close.

Booked for four hours, it’s Achnagairn so local to me being, it’s just along the road. Family and friends gathered at Achnagairn to celebrate the wedding and the reception followed with just about every guest joining in. For a bride that had only 11 days previously given birth, Abigail was rocking out mum and bride duties.

A few from the couples gallery chosen at random. Congrats again to you both!

Eilean Donan Castle Wedding | Kelly and Chris Sat, 26 Aug 2017 21:00:37 +0000 Travelling up from Dewsbury to get married on your 10th Anniversary of being a couple…in a minibus with family takes some doing.

Neither the groom or bride had been in Eilean Donan Castle previously, so everything was a surprise. Close family and friends joined the couple for a long weekend in Scotland, staying in Dornie and the Dornie Lodges. Weather was holding out for the wedding and the midges were kept at bay with a slight breeze.

A couple of hours spent capturing the wedding on a lovely August evening. These are just a few of the sneak peeks from the day.

Congrats again guys and thank you for the kind words after you saw your gallery…

Lews Castle Wedding | Kristina and Finlay | Isle of Lewis Thu, 10 Aug 2017 21:51:53 +0000 Kristina and Finlay and their Lews Castle Wedding in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis. Kristina had contacted me over a year prior to the wedding to discuss capturing their wedding on Lewis, the venue changed a few times, the ceremony location changed a few times, but …all still on Lewis.

One ferry trip from Skye to Harris (prefer the Harris ferry to the Lewis one as I get sea sick very easily!)  for me the day before and a wee scoot about to ‘scope’ the locations and all was good to go. Fireworks mentioned, Scottish Dancers, Castle, Church, beach.. #thisisscotland #thisisscottishweddings. Having not shot a wedding at the newly renovated and upgraded Lews Castle, the apartments and rooms are stunning. Huge bedrooms, every mod con you can think of and lovely views out over the harbour.

Bumping into people I know is now common place wherever I seem to go, Stornoway was no exception as I walk into the salon where the girls are getting their hair and makeup done…someone that used to live in Beauly!

All in all an excellent few days away to capture the wedding at Lews Castle. These are just a tiny selection of random images from the full day booking…congratulations again to you both.

Assynt House Wedding | Hugh and Tracey Fri, 28 Jul 2017 21:10:00 +0000 Been a while since I was at Assynt House, more like a few years! Tracey and Hugh had chosen Assynt House as it suited their every need, outdoor wedding out front, rooms for the guests, free roam of the kitchen and exclusive use. Elizabeth, one of the owners is always on hand and nothing is usually too much trouble. Staff are brilliant and all in all, a lovely venue for the smaller wedding.

Weather, as per usual, my phone was right, little showers here and there but more importantly it was going to be dry during the service. With a close group of their family and friends, the wedding was on, the sun was out and the food was plentiful and excellent as per usual. Although I’ve come away from ‘venue’ weddings in favour of small intimate couple only and small group weddings, Assynt House is one venue I’d always be happy to return to for wedding photography.

These are just a few of the sneak peek images from the day, couple have their gallery and I’ll leave them to peruse at their leisure. Thank you again to you both for allowing me to capture your day, Elizabeth and staff for accommodating my banter and for feeding me x

Leanne and Calum | Wester Lochloy Wedding Sat, 17 Jun 2017 18:04:59 +0000 Leanne and Calum got married at Calum’s parents house in a, well…massive tent! When I say tent, it was about the same size as a 4 bed bungalow. Bar set up with kegs and optics under cover, meals from the excellent street kitchen ‘van’. Picnic benches everywhere and utterly amazing table centres and decor completed by Amanda the Bridesmaid!

Choosing to be married outside under a tree meant everyone was seated on authentic haybales as the sun shone down. Surrounded by fields we utilised everything we could in the three hours I was booked for. These are just a few of the sneak peek images from the day.

Tipi Decor! Amanda the Bridesmaid
The Weather: Too good

David and Joyce | Portree Wedding – Isle Of Skye Mon, 05 Jun 2017 22:15:46 +0000 38 years together, this utterly lovely couple decided to do ‘the deed’ whilst on holiday touring Scotland. Portree was the wedding venue with just the couple and quick blast around Skye as I was only there for a couple of hours to capture the moment. A few shots from David and Joyce’s Skye elopement wedding. Congratulations again to such a lovely couple #relationshipgoals

Aviemore Wedding Photography | Kayleigh and Stuart | Big Husky Lodge Wedding Sat, 03 Jun 2017 08:59:11 +0000 Big Husky Lodge Wedding for Kayleigh and Stuart. Kayleigh and Stuart had booked myself for a half day wedding package and were getting married at the Big Husky Lodge at Kinveachy, Boat of Garten near Aviemore. Forecast was rain, but phone app said the opposite. Going with the opposite forecast which proved correct. Rain, rain, rain….wedding time…sun!

Everyone buzzing about the rather lovely Lodge getting ready for the outdoor wedding being conducted by Halde Pottinger, someone I have worked with on a few weddings, three in one week over this week! Wedding done, and we’re off to Loch Morlich with the dogs…and ducks. Stunning day continues as we headed back to the lodge to capture the formals. Not alot of room for group shots in the garden at the lodge and the Highland Cows had disappeared into the woods. There is however a field of sheep across the road with some nice trees, guests and family, we’re off into the field as I prefer it and I like that one tree.

These are just a few from the day and congratulations again to a lovely couple. PS it was torrential rain as soon as I started heading back up the A9, a wedding well timed, a phone app that was bang on for once.
